Filmbooth ’08, New Delhi – December 2008

Filmbooth 2008 took place in New Delhi at the India Habitat Centre on 19^th-21^st December 2008. The three-day festival screened 50 short films from competition, cinematic and Bollywood section.

Planned on the lines of LA Shortfests, The Manhattan Shorts and NY Shorts, the event brought together short films from across the country, providing a common platform to filmmakers to showcase their talent. The festival ran a competition for all budding filmmakers split in two sections – (a) films up to one minute and (b) films up to 20 minutes. The theme of the festival was open with emphasis on films of fictional/ non-documentary style and character. The jury included Santosh Desai, Santosh Padhi, Lushin Dubey, Vanita Kohli Khandekar, Saloni Puri, Amit Pasricha, Meenu Chopra and Sandeep Marwah. Apart from movies selected for participation, the festival also screened short movies from the AIDS Jaago Series.
